This line is genuinely Helen Keller's, drawn from her 1903 essay Optimism, written while she was a student at Radcliffe College and published by Thomas Y. Crowell & Co. In the essay's second part, "Optimism Within," Keller argues that struggle against evil is itself a blessing, and the full sentence reads, "It lets us into the soul of things and teaches us that although the world is full of suffering, it is full also of the overcoming of it" — appearing on page 17 of the first edition. The only wrinkle is wording: the version that circulates today ("it is also full of the overcoming of it") lightly reorders Keller's original phrasing ("it is full also of the overcoming of it"), a common modernization that leaves the meaning intact. We confirmed the original text against the complete essay in multiple independent sources and found no credible competing author and no evidence the sentiment predates her.
